Structural Engineer CoOp/Intern

Working with the Sr. Engineer and site operations teams you will support the structural asset health program through inspection evaluation and design. The engineer will provide field support to construction and maintenance teams to promote effective and efficient of repairs and modifications to structures in the minerals and concentrate plants.

Term

September 8 to December 19 2025

Full time CoOp/Internship. Typically 3640 hours a week on site.

Structural Engineer CoOp/Intern

Working with the Sr. Engineer and site operations teams you will support the structural asset health program through inspection evaluation and design. The engineer will provide field support to construction and maintenance teams to promote effective and efficient of repairs and modifications to structures in the minerals and concentrate plants.

What will you do

Day to day work assignments could include:

  • On site structural inspection analysis design of solutions to support site maintenance

  • Inspection report reviews prepare drawings & technical documents.

  • Structural database management.

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization including management plant operators engineers (of various disciplines) tradespersons and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment

  • Adhering to Mosaics mission guiding principles and priorities and key competencies

What do you need for this role

  • Second year or higher pursuing a bachelors degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

  • For Louisiana ONLY: TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • 12 years of experience volunteering working with student/school organizations or work is preferred.

  • Previous internship or coop experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the coop/internship

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Postoffer/preplacementdrug and alcohol screening background check physical functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
