The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking a Youth Case Manager/Office Assistant to join its adolescent substance abuse treatment program in downtown Santa Barbara.
As an important member of our team the Case Manager/Office Assistant interacts with our clients (adolescents & their families) helps connect them to support services working closely with our treatment team to help move adolescents on the path toward recovery and health. The position also provides help with basic office functions coordinating the daytoday office activities and creating an organized and wellfunctioning office environment.
Training in the field of substance abuse counseling and case management is ongoing with this position which provides opportunities to develop skills in the field of counseling and case management.
Qualifications:
College degree or certificate in helping profession (Counseling Psychology Sociology etc. or equivalent experience
At least one year of experience in alcohol and drug counseling with knowledge of counseling principles assessment and case planning
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to connect effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds
Proficient in general office tasks and computer programs including Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and database systems
Bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural preferred
Responsibilities:
Provides front desk support by answering phones greeting clients giving information scheduling appointments and verifying MediCal eligibility
Manages client records by creating intake files maintaining accurate documentation and entering data into PRIS or other systems
Handles payments processes receipts distributes mail and assists with general office organization and supply management
Supports UA (urine analysis) testing for female clients records results and ensures proper communication with staff and probation when applicable
Support clients and families through participation in MDFT casings followup meetings and collaboration with therapists and outside agencies (e.g. courts schools)
Guide parents and youth in navigating external systems through case management sessions conducted by phone telehealth or in person
This is a fulltime nonexempt position 40 hours per week. The expected schedule is MonFri 10:30am7:00pm. Benefits include health dental vision and life insurance retirement contribution and paid time off. Compensation is dependent on the level of prior experience and qualifications with a salary range of $22$25 per hour.
In compliance with the California Department of Health Care Services staff require an uptodate Tuberculosis test during the duration of employment.
