Job Description
The Health Unit Coordinator under the supervision of a registered nurse performs a variety of receptionist secretarial and unit operational duties for an assigned patient care unit while functioning as the focal communication source in the nursing station.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Notary public preferred
Previous Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in clerical or receptionist position
- Hospital and computer experience or satisfactory completion of training program preferred
Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to comprehend medical terminology is preferred.
- Must be able to work independently relate to various groups of professionals and interact with department visitors/staff.
- Must be able to operate word processing equipment as well as perform data entry into Meditech.
- HIPPA no breaches of confidentiality. no related complaints voiced on patient satisfactions surveys. No related complaints by fellow care providers of observed incidences.
