About the opportunity

Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Medical Cardiology Ward on a FullTime basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Please note this opportunity is a 6month maternity leave FTC.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a stateoftheart 340bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including but not limited to 24/7 Emergency Care Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastic Surgery ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management

Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based

Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment

Providing guidance mentoring and support to your team

Be accountable for the effective management of human financial and material resources

Undertaking direct patient care as required

Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in Cardiac nursing
  • Post Graduate qualification in Cardiac or Critical Care Nursing (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
  • Understand the requirements of private health funding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customerfocused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
