As part of Specialty Program Groups Delegated Underwriting Authority unit Catapult Insurance Solutions offers creative program insurance solutions & wholesale brokerage for niche industries & hardtoplace risks.
SUMMARY
The ideal Production Underwriter candidate will be responsible for increasing sales by way of prospecting new retail agent clients growing existing retail agencies and securing new business accounts by providing excellent customer service product knowledge along with creative and timely problemsolving. This position will have a strong focus on the construction segment including builders risk property and general liability/XS lines of business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be required.
- Locate new sales opportunities by visiting existing and new customers and presenting our products and services.
- Maintain and increase current profitable books of business.
- Establish and foster client relationships and anticipate and resolve any problems that may arise.
- Respond expeditiously to customer needs and follow through on all aspects of requests both written and verbal.
- Embrace change and participate in activities needed to support the growth of the company.
- Develop analyze select and profitably price risks of varying complexity with an emphasis on new business production.
- Provide thorough and clear underwriting proposals and in a timely manner.
- Achieve agreed upon production and loss ratio goals within assigned book of business.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position will require very minimal travel.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION/BACKGROUND Minimum 5 years commercial underwriting experience with a focus on the construction segment a plus. Must be able to work independently and build strong client and company relationships. Bachelors degree is desired.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Must be deemed to effectively speak read write and effectively comprehend English. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must possess basic math skills. Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement and volume.
Ability to calculate premiums based on exposures and rates. Ability to apply payments and/or refunds to specific invoices and item numbers.
INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS Licensing and designations preferred but not required.

WORK LOCATION: Would prefer for eligible candidates to reside in either Ohio or Texas.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $70000 to $130000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
