Job Description

Classification Title:

Clinical Programs Coordinator III

Job Description:

As a Clinical Programs Coordinator III you will provide support for the Medical Directors of the NAVIGATE Program at the UF Health Springhill Clinics. NAVIGATE is a comprehensive program designed to provide early and effective treatment for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The program offers Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) for early psychosis helping individuals and their families navigate the mental health system to achieve psychological and functional wellbeing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Support:
    • Provide clinical supervision of clinical services for the NAVIGATE therapy sessions. Serves as team lead by overseeing daily operations providing supervision and mentorship to junior team members. Ensure Data elements are accurate and captured across all cases on a real time basis using specific NAVIGATE protocols. Schedule and develop specific resiliency training individualized by patient needs. Perform integrated resiliency and wellness therapy to individuals and families dealing with FEP. Serves as backup for the Family Education Clinical Coordinator II when unavailable to ensure adherence to NAVIGATE program schedule for patients. Designs develops and conducts special studies in the program and analyses data at the request of the NAVIGATE Medical Director.
  • Program Support:
    • Work closely with the Directors of NAVIGATE Program and other team members to support the program. Supervises clinical visits and documents activities in the EPIC billing system and confirms care meets NAVIGATE protocols and guidelines. Duties include assisting with scheduling and adding patients via program protocols with appropriate priority status. Ongoing patient outreach support and followup with appropriate documentation as required by the program funding agency. Meet weekly with team members advocating for patient resiliency therapy needs. Compile patient lists for weekly case conference and perform necessary followup.
  • Community Outreach:
    • Provide support and assistance to individuals and their families diagnosed with first episode of nonaffective psychosis (FEP). Provide collaborative consultation to schools and agencies serving individuals with FEP. Provide public education programs for community members to promote community awareness and acceptance of persons with FEP. Collaborate with community resources and agencies to connect families with services needed. Write consultation notes and report on activities in a timely manner and maintain all required records. Develop educational materials for community members educators and families. Collaborate with other agencies within the State of Florida offering the NAVIGATE Program to continue to be current on clinical therapy developments.
  • Case Management:
    • This position will also provide case management which often includes assistance in accessing housing transportation and other community resources that align with the patients needs and goals.

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers labs and collaborations with other departments. The Department of Psychiatry includes a large outpatient center with various specialty clinics within (including one associated with our Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment) a very active inpatient service psychiatry collaborative program for primary care practitioners school consultation program and community consultation services. The Department of Psychiatry spans services across adult addiction and child/adolescent specializations including a freestanding psychiatric hospital a large consult liaison service at the main UF Shands Hospital the Florida Recovery Center operated by our Addiction Division and multiple research centers including the Center for Addiction Research & Education and the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (COARD)

Expected Salary:

$75000 $85000; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in social work psychology mental health counseling or related field with some postdegree supervised experience.
  • Experience with schizophrenia and first episode psychosis.
  • Experience with behavioral assessments and providing interventional therapy.
