Job Purpose
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) implements and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate the inpatient rehabilitation of children with special needs under the guidance and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. This position directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore reinforce and enhance performance and facilitates the learning of those skills essential for function adaptation selfcare and productivity. This position will serve the Pediatric Medical Rehab Unit (PMRU).

Performs individualized treatment procedures in a professional and compassionate manner to maximize childs performance.

Collaborates and communicates effectively with members of the patient care team; performs timely and accurate documentation and stays up to date on the most recent occupational Therapy techniques through research and CE

Helps identify need orders and/or fabricates appropriate therapeutic equipment as indicated by patient need.

Participates in staff trainings student observations clinical instruction of students and interns and family training opportunities.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Experience:
Pediatric experience preferred
License/Certification/Credential:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License from State of Oklahoma or proven eligibility for licensing within 36 months of employment with temporary license.
