Description

The Public Works Transportation Departments Bridge and Sign divisions are seeking multiple candidates to work as Seasonal Laborers for the 2025 road construction season.

Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a$500referral bonus. For more information visitemployee referral program.

Location and hours:
These positions are located at the Public Works Facility 1600 Prairie Drive Medina MN 55340. The typical work schedule will be 6 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with occasional evening and weekend hours. There is no public transportation to this facility.

About these position types:
These are temporary seasonal positions (nonbenefit earning) that may last for up to six months during the 2025 road construction season (April October). These positions are also available to accommodate a students schedule and work from (June August).


In these positions you will:

Seasonal Laborer Traffic Operations

Seasonal Laborer Bridge Division
Have responsibilities that include:
  • Assist bridge maintenance crews with bridge flushing and bridge sealing activities and sealing bridge decks.
  • Paint over/remove graffiti.
  • Assist with traffic control signs and devices during bridge inspection and bridge maintenance work.
In both positions you will:
  • Flag traffic
  • Shovel rake and sweep.
  • Trim trees Chip bushes and remove debris.
  • Install signs and traffic control devices.
  • Perform other road construction/traffic maintenance related laborer tasks.
