About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering the Instrumentation Engineer will provide technical support to capital projects and daytoday Operations. Operations technical support will include providing assistance to maintenance personnel for telecoms instrumentation & control troubleshooting and failure analysis as well as disposition of Management of Change (MOC) requests. This role will manage selected small projects including design and construction management and will be responsible for overall safe and effective use of the controls and communications systems on the installation.

What youll do:

  • Provide daytoday technical assistance to offshore operations/maintenance groups including preventative maintenance procedures troubleshooting problem analysis and technology evaluations

  • Provide guidance and direction to EPC contractors

  • Perform technical reviews of engineering designs

  • Provide detail engineering design for small projects which are primarily I&C or telecoms in scope

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate programs such as technical specifications cyber security and alarm management

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • A member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL)

  • Minimum 4 years of Instrumentation & Controls related experience within the oil and gas industry

  • Knowledge of CNLOPB DNV and Transport Canada regulations and standards

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to preplacement Fitness for Work assessments which includes drug and alcohol screening and a medical.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 drivers license a satisfactory driving record and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A drivers abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the preemployment screening for the final candidate
