We are looking for an inhouse legal counsel to join COWI Sweden. Based in one of COWIs offices in Sweden and reporting to the Head of Legal COWI Sweden and Norway you will provide legal support for COWI Sweden within COWI Groups central legal function Group Legal.
Group Legal comprises 35 team members across Denmark Sweden Norway Dubai the UK and Canada providing comprehensive legal services throughout the COWI Group. As inhouse legal counsel in Sweden you will be part of a legal team in Norway and Sweden of five lawyers and be a strategic partner to the leadership team in Sweden collaborating closely with the senior management on a variety of legal matters essential to advancing COWIs goals.
On a daytoday basis your tasks will include:
- providing legal counsel to the senior management particularly in construction and consultancy law as well as areas like corporate law competition law public procurement intellectual property (IP) rights and data protection (GDPR)
- preparing reviewing and negotiating various agreements particularly in large projects
- legal support for ongoing projects
- managing disputes and complaints both internally and in coordination with external lawyers
- conducting legal training in various areas of law and further developing templates tools and processes
- corporate restructurings and legal housekeeping

On top of that you will have:
- a Swedish masters degree in laws
- extensive experience from a law firm or as an inhouse counsel preferably specializing in the consulting and construction industries contracts public procurement and business law
- knowledge of and handson experience with standard contractual terms in the consulting and construction industries such as ABK 09 ABT 06 AB 04 FIDIC etc. or the similar
- strong experience managing disputes especially in the early stages with a solid business understanding and the ability to communicate complex legal matters to stakeholders
- excellent communication skills in English and Swedish
