Trinity Oaks in Salisbury NC is looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant/Recreational Therapist for a FullTime fulfilling position to join their team. Pay rate based upon experience. This position is scheduled regularly Monday through Friday with only occasional weekends and evenings
Position Purpose/Summary:
The Life Enrichment Assistant/Recreational Therapist under the direction of the Life Enrichment Director is responsible for the provision of life enrichment activities and services to residents/participants.
Essential Functions:
The life enrichment assistant in relation to activities and in accordance with federal and state regulations and standards LSC philosophies objectives and policies effectively:
1. Participates in the establishment interpretation and implementation of life enrichment philosophies objectives and policies.
2. Plans and conducts individualized activities for residents/participants as assigned.
3. Plans and conducts group activities for residents/participants as assigned.
4. Assists in the transport of residents/participants on special outings as assigned.
5. Assists in keeping bulletin boards uptodate by posting and removing notices.
6. Maintains confidentiality and safeguards residents rights including the right to refuse to participate in activities.
7. Reflects LSCs mission vision values and customer service standards in daily interactions.
8. Completes required training as assigned.
9. Completes other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties for Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities:
1. Plan and complete oneonone activities when required and as assigned.
2. Transport residents to and from activities.
3. Distribute and/or assist with the distribution of resident mail as needed.
Additional Duties for Adult Day Services:
1. Maintain required records in accordance with DAAS state standards.
2. Observe participants dietary restrictions at all times.
3. Assist with preparing serving and cleaning up after meals and snacks as needed.
4. Report any deviation in activity schedule to life enrichment director or executive director.
5. Assist participants with activities of daily living including but not limited to walking transferring eating toileting and dressing as needed.
6. Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
7. Complete CPR and first aid certification so as to remain current at all times.
Qualifications (Minimum Job Requirements):
Education: High school graduate.
Experience: Prior experience in similar position preferred or in industry.
Specific skills/abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with residents families and staff. Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products; audiovisual equipment; van equipment if applicable.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. May be required to assist residents/participants with transferring and transporting;
2. Able to lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds; bending stooping reaching may be required.
