Job Role:Rough Sleeper Navigator

Salary: 25235 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Weymouth

Additional information:

• Valid drivers license and access to a car for business purposes
• Participation in an outofhours oncall rota
• Participation in an outreach rota which may include working early mornings evening and weekends

The Role:

Join us in making a real difference! Were looking for a dedicated individual to support people who are sleeping rough or in insecure accommodation across the Dorset Council area. In this role youll build trust provide personcentred advocacy and empower clients to navigate their journey toward a stable independent future. If youre passionate about helping others break the cycle of homelessness wed love to hear from you!

Please note this post requires working occasional weekends and some unsocial hours as well as being able to walk several miles in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include:

• To undertake assertive outreach and hot spot visits across the locality area
• Work in close partnership with the housing health and wellbeing services police emergency accommodation providers and wider partner agencies to maximise positive outcomes
• Carry out a strengthbased assessment with each client and plan and enact support actions/interventions which will assist clients to achieve their goals and move towards a sustainable life away from the streets
• Establish supportive trusting and professional relationships with service users using a trauma informed approach

Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive; the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities

Qualifications / Requirements:

• A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
• Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needsand challenging behaviours
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients and services in order to develop pathways to enable clients to make positive changes
