Class Summary


This is a parttime position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.

Job Description
Gwinnett Countys Department of Water Resources is currently recruiting to hire Laboratory Technician intern. $19.58 per hour 3040 hours per week.

Essential Duties
  • Coordinate and participate with field team for sample collection
  • Assist with sample transportation and preparation
  • Assist with water quality analysis under supervision
  • Assist DWR staff with data analysis and reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Hourly rate
19.58 per hour 3040 hours per week from May to September 2025.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Major in Science or Engineering preferably environmental sciences chemistry or related major.
  • Available between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm during weekdays.
  • Willingness to work occasional extended hours after 4:00pm and weekends if necessary.
  • Experience in wet chemistry laboratory techniques highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in EXCEL and Word.
  • A valid drivers license and the ability to meet requirements to operate a Gwinnett County vehicle.
Other Requirements
  • Strong work or educational background and/or understanding of water quality analysis
  • Good laboratory technique and safety awareness
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation
  • Well organized detail oriented and dependable
  • Interested in learning new lab techniques
  • Will represent Gwinnett County DWR with professionalism and courtesy
