Phlebotomist Casual
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team and help serve patients across our inpatient outpatient and emergency department settings. Phlebotomists are vital members of our healthcare team and were looking for individuals who not only excel in technical skills but also contribute to a positive work environment and exceptional experience for our patients. Priority consideration given to applicants who have direct phlebotomy work experience in a hospital setting.
Location: Nebraska Medical Center Nebraska Medicine Omaha NE
Shift Details:
First Shift Availability: 2:30 AM 12:30 PM
Training Requirement: Casual employees must complete training on First Shift for a minimum of 3 days per week Monday through Friday.
Holiday Requirement: Casual employees must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.

Duties: Phlebotomist
Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform evaluate and report patient specimens using pointofcare instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment represent the lab in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.
Required Qualifications: Phlebotomist
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Effective written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to demonstrate initiative teamwork and flexibility required.
Computer experience required.
Attention to detail required.
Ability to multitask required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomist
Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred
