Role Overview:
Alcoa is seeking a Director External Affairs Spain to lead all government and external affairs efforts at the national and regional levels serving as a key strategic advisor to the Head of San Ciprin and European leadership. This role will shape and drive Alcoas external engagement strategy enhance advocacy efforts and strengthen the companys reputation in Spain.
The Director will be responsible for developing and executing highimpact government affairs strategies fostering critical stakeholder relationships and ensuring alignment between external affairs and business objectives. This position requires a seasoned leader with a strong network in Spains political and regulatory landscape particularly in industrial and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Alcoas primary representative with federal and regional governments in Spain driving policy discussions and regulatory engagement to support business priorities.
Develop and execute a comprehensive external affairs strategy ensuring proactive management of government relations industry partnerships and community engagement.
Advise senior leadership on political regulatory and public affairs risks and opportunities providing insights that shape business decisions.
Lead Alcoas advocacy efforts on key legislative and regulatory matters proactively engaging with policymakers trade associations and thirdparty organizations.
Establish and strengthen relationships with key government officials regulatory authorities industry leaders and local communities to enhance Alcoas influence and reputation.
Oversee stakeholder engagement initiatives including crisis communication and issue management to protect and advance Alcoas business interests.
Ensure compliance with all legal ethical and corporate governance requirements in external affairs activities.
Represent Alcoa in highlevel industry forums public policy discussions and media engagements as required.
Lead and mentor a team fostering a highperformance culture within the external affairs function.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors or masters degree in political science Public Affairs Communications or a related field.
15 years of experience in government relations external affairs or public policy with a track record of influencing highlevel decisionmaking.
Strong knowledge of Spains political regulatory and economic environment particularly in industrial and energy sectors.
Demonstrated leadership in managing complex stakeholder environments including government entities industry groups and local communities.
Exceptional strategic thinking negotiation and relationshipbuilding skills.
Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English with the ability to represent Alcoa effectively at the highest levels.
Experience navigating regulatory challenges and shaping public policy to support business growth.
Ability to work crossfunctionally and drive alignment between business and external affairs objectives.
