Computer Science Instructor
JOB TITLE: Career Center Computer Science Instructor
REPORTS TO: Amy Redman
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Teach computer science at the North Lawrence Career Center; possibly in combination with introductory computer science courses for Bedford North Lawrence High School
- Topics include
- Operating systems
- Database technology
- Cybersecurity
- Cloud implementations
- Algorithms logic development and flowcharting
- Artificial intelligence
- App/game development and security
- Procedural programming (data types control structures functions arrays testing and debugging mechanics)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop plan and implement curriculum and education programs in accordance with building corporation and state guidelines
- Establish plan and host program advisory board meetings as directed by CTE director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma and 5000 hours of work experience in the field with willingness and ability to pursue an Indiana Workplace Specialist educator license OR ability to become licensed in content area using alternative Indiana teacher licensure methods
- Occupational licensure completion of apprenticeship or internship program accredited 2year degree or higher in specific certification area is preferred
- Knowledge of content areas including industry prevalent equipment software materials procedures etc.
