The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel by performing all stages of linen processing in accordance with the Companys standards. Work schedule varies and includes weekends and holidays.
This position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor retains relationships with peers and all other departments within the company maintains relationships with customers suppliers vendors and others serving the Company.
As a Laundry Attendant on our team you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
- Strip guest rooms when needed.
- Collect linen baskets from each floor.
- Sort all linens and treat stains.
- Load laundry for washing.
- Load wet clean items to dryer as directed.
- Sort and fold clean dried items and store in designated linen locations.
- Ensure that all washers are empty at the end of the night.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs to supervisor.
- Maintain laundry equipment and inform supervisor as to any maintenance needs.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other jobrelated duties as assigned.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Hotel laundry experience required.
- Follow directions
- Have a good attitude.
- Ability to extend arms over head to perform linen folding. Perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion and/or fine motor skills.
- Must be willing to pitchin and help coworkers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Knowledge of cleaning detergents and laundering equipment helpful.
- Ability to speak English and interact with guests and other employees in a courteous empathetic and discreet manner.
- Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
