We are currently seeking a qualified Civil Structural Field Specialist/Engineer with concrete expertise to join our Construction team based out of Humboldt County in Northern Nevada. The Field Specialist / Engineer (FE) will be responsible for ensuring the relevant aspects of construction meets the structural design intent. The FE Structural shall be the first point of contact to address structural technical queries and nonconformance reports related to the structural design. They will complete walkdowns of the construction as required to fulfill the above requirements and complete surveillance audits of critical structural elements to ensure the design intent is met and/or corrected where required. They will work mainly within the Integrated Construction Centre (ICC) platforms to issue technical queries nonconformance reports and have the opportunity to work on the Lithium Americas project. Bantrel will be supporting in managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors who are engineering and building the facility. Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of longlead equipment is underway.
The project is located in the high desert and wideopen spaces of northcentral Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.
* Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position with a rotation of 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off and a 6 day 9.5 hour/day work week.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conformance to design quality control quality assurance and progress measurement and progress verification of constructed work.
- Review and disposition of submittals from subcontractors related to concrete formwork embeds structural steel.
- Perform field Inspections to verify quality and contractor claimed progress.
- Sign applicable check sheets upon completion of field inspection.
- Conduct Contractors Quality Surveillances and record findings.
- Attend weekly Contractor quality meeting.
- Prepare Field Sketches for Temporary Facilities when required.
- Perform walkdowns with the Contractors and project stakeholders upon completion of specific field activities and initiate a punch list.
- Conducts walkdowns to verify closure of punch items and records closure in the project data management system.
- Review of Turnover Documentation from the Contractors
- Review and endorse (or reject) installed quantities issued by the Contractors on a weekly basis.
- Manages the following as they pertain to the structural discipline Technical Queries (TQs) Field Change Notices (FCNs) Field Change Reports (FCRs) NonConformance Reports (NCRs)
- Communicates design changes to construction.
- Coordinates proposed design changes with construction and the Engineer of Record (EoR) and submits to the EoR for formal approval.
- Maintains project data management systems as assigned to facilitate accurate project reporting.
- Review turnover documentation submitted by subcontractors and compiles turnover documentation for self performed work.
- Confirms all minimum maintenance and inspection activities are completed for structural components.
- Participates in the site risk constructability and safety in design reviews as required.
- Generates reports as required on Structural engineering deliverables and turnover
- Operates daytoday ensuring that activities are prioritized in line with assigned goals and project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Supervises direct reports including work assignment quality management coaching and developing progressively through their assignment.
- Approves timesheets sets and measures performance against assigned goals and KPIs.
- Ensures that they are managing their time effectively and adhering to deadlines
- Completes all assigned training and supports development of peers and direct reports through knowledge sharing and coaching.
- Promotes a collaborative and productive culture based on Bantrel Mission and Values.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education training or work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with structural concrete construction.
- Minimum 10 years construction engineering experience.
- A Professional Engineering license in a Canada.
- Strong understanding of quality management processes and systems ISO standards and auditing processes related to major project delivery or program management
- High attention to detail motivation and commitment to quality outcomes
- Ability to operate effectively and work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies
- Working knowledge of industryleading standards and engineering management practices in a multidiscipline engineering environment including 3D datacentric platforms.
- Working knowledge of engineering subcontracts formation and administration procurement processes construction commissioning project controls health safety environment risk management for large capital projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including functional managers and discipline leads on the project clients outside vendors and subcontractors
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting analytical and problemsolving skills including root cause analysis training
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment for their team.
