Job Description
Our picturesque Summerset Boulcott village is a brandnew village & sits adjacent to the beautiful Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club offering stunning views of the surrounding valley and lush greens. This village is still in development once complete this stunning village will offer a range of modern high quality living & care options to our residents.
About the Role:
The role empowers you to create a recreational programme for seniors living in a care supportive environment. You will be leading a culture of purposeful engagement which promotes dignity and independence through the therapeutic recreation process.
This is a permanent parttime role working 60 hours per fortnight Sunday Thursday 9.30am 4pm
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Promoting meaningful activities that meet the needs of residents.
- Empowering residents to make choices. Support residents to maintain autonomy and maximise independence.
- Encourage and support residents to participate and engage in purposeful recreational programmes.
- Applying the APIED process (assessment planning implementation evaluation documentation) for individual or group recreational programmes. Quality control and quality assurance of the recreational activities (monitoring analysing reviewing reporting)
Qualifications :
About You:
You will be a passionate flexible energetic openminded and innovative individual with a sound understanding of a holistic person centered approach. To be successful you will bring/be:
- High level of human awareness (empathy & compassion).
- A person who can run individual and group recreational activities.
- A person with good communications skills and strong willingness to learn.
- Full NZ Driver License and the ability to drive a Mobility Van A Registered (qualified and licensed)
- Diversional and Recreational Therapist is desirable. If you dont hold a DRT Licence or if you are not a Qualified DRTh you must be willing to complete the NZQA Certificate in Diversional and Recreational Therapy
