SOAR Specialist

Job Summary
SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) is a model that helps individuals experiencing or atrisk for homelessness who have mental illness and/or a cooccurring substance use disorder or other medical impairments apply for Social Security disability benefits. The SSVF program uses this model to assist people with disabilities who would have difficulty applying independently for SSI/SSDI benefits.
Skills/Requirement
High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher in a field related to behavioral health preferred.
Minimum of two 2 years of experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness who have mentally illness and/or are dually diagnosed required.
Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse clinical techniques preferred.
Familiarity with federal and state public benefits programs and/or SOAR preferred.
Knowledge of social service resources preferred.
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in accordance with A.A.C. R910101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies and Procedures.
Current AZ Drivers License (valid and in good standing).
Clear 39month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) within 12months of employment.
Certified to complete the Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (SPDAT) required within 90 days of employment.
