Job Title: Welding Instructor

Job Summary:
The North Lawrence Career Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Welding Instructor to join our team. The instructor will be responsible for providing highquality instruction in welding techniques and safety procedures to students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching strong technical skills and the ability to engage and inspire students in a handson learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding curriculum aligned with industry standards and educational goals.
- Conduct classroom lectures and handson demonstrations in various welding techniques (e.g. MIG TIG Stick).
- Teach students about safety protocols equipment handling and proper welding practices.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through practical exams projects and written assessments.
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment ensuring all equipment is in working order.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to integrate welding skills into broader vocational programs.
- Stay current with advancements in welding technology and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in welding technology or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications in welding (e.g. AWS Certified Welder) and teaching credentials preferred.
- Previous teaching or training experience in welding or a related technical field is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques materials and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing for extended periods and working with welding equipment in a shop environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials as necessary.
