Job Description
Controller Global Ocean Freight
Location: Hamburg Germany
The Role
The main purpose of this role is to supervise the accounting and controlling functions related to ADMI ocean freight operations and serve as the direct contact to the business functions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support and advise your direct reports in providing accurate and timely monthly financial disclosures and keep oversight on outcomes
- Reconcile and confirm accuracy of balance sheet accounts
- Review process designs and practices that lead to improvement and the achievement of departmental goals
- Act as a business partner towards commercial and operational management by providing
- financial information and analysis
- guidance regarding regulatory aspects and process design
- Liaise with audit teams both internal and external to ensure successful and timely completion of USGAAP and statutory audit reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP / local rules and regulations
- Complete annual reviews of Key Financial/SOX Controls and process flows and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls
Your Profile
- Bachelor or comparable degree in business administration or related
- 4 years professional experience in Controlling or comparable Finance functions
- Knowledge of trade market fundamentals Freight or Commodities and USGAAP accounting
- Strong analytical abilities initiative and problem solving skills
- Experience in people management desirable
- Fluent in English Polish or German would be a bonus
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
