Job Description
The Manager of Improvement Consulting in the Center for Quality and Safety is responsible for leading teams focused on improvement work for patient safety process improvement clinical effectiveness and clinical informatics to meet the needs of the organization. Responsible for leading institutional improvement priorities and advancing a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Thinks strategically communicates frequently and shares knowledge to build trusting relationships throughout the organization. Leads with flexibility and adaptability and escalates barriers to executive sponsors promptly to mitigate issues. Leader embodies Lurie Childrens core values. Provides clarity by defining roles responsibilities and priorities and helps team members grow and develop by identifying gaps and giving frequent feedback.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Cultivate an understanding of the value of improvement science and the talents and skillsets within the Center for Excellence throughout the Lurie Childrens enterprise.
2. Support the Senior Director in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and deploying the tactics required to execute the systemwide strategic vision for quality and safety.
3. Collaborating with the portfolio manager to guide the prioritization of improvement work identified via portfolio management function.
4. In partnership with the Senior Director build and maintain the infrastructure required to deliver solutions tailored to Lurie clinicians and Lurie patients/families needs.
5. Develop and deploy a highreliability organization (HRO) strategy as established by Executive Leadership in collaboration with key stakeholders. Establish and align detection systems promote sharedconsciousness to prevent harm improve outcomes and optimize operations.
6. In partnership with the Senior Director develop implement and sustain competencebased orientation and training.
7. Conducts annual performance reviews promotion of staff development and any progressive disciplinary actions.
8. Promote and integrate academic activity both internally and externally.
9. Oversees and maintains electronic time and attendance of consulting team members.
10. Support senior leadership on departmental goals and tasks as directed.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical and or leadership experience required.
Experience with improvement methodologies e.g. DMAIC PDSA Lean Six Sigma IHI Model for Improvement etc. required.
Proficiency in presenting communicating and interacting effectively with medical/nursing staff and management at all levels of the organization.
Working knowledge of healthcare reform quality patient safety and regulatory / compliance issues affecting healthcare at a national and local level.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications: Excel Word and PowerPoint.
Advanced skill set with data management including interpreting comprehending and summarizing statistical and medical data.
Excellent project management and business analysis skills.
Strong written interpersonal organizational and problemsolving skills. Project management and collaboration skills required.

$99840.00$164736.00 SalaryAt Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
