Job Description

Job Description Summary

The primary function of the InDirect/Direct Buyer is the timely and costeffective procurement of goods and services to support the State College site. The role reports directly to the Materials Manager and will work closely with internal departments external suppliers logistics partners and financial team. This position requires someone who can handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of performance and ethics.

Job Description

  • 60 of time spent on Indirect procurement purchasing materials and services not part of product needed for production (office supplies facility management services and programs).

  • 40 of time spent on Direct procurement purchasing materials goods and services supporting production.

  • Handle purchase orders (PO creation and dispatch to suppliers delivery followup PO tracking and reporting)

  • Review the status of shipment orders and make expediting adjustments as needed to ensure timely receipt of goods purchased and proper order application.

  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.

  • Coordinate logistics and transportation for shipments

  • Implement the standardization and continual improvement of the procurement process and the attainment of other identified procurement Key Performance Indicators

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college in Supply Chain Management (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Word).

  • Knowledge of ERP system Oracle (GL Prod ASCP)

  • Knowledge of Agora a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Detailoriented mindset with strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.

  • Adaptable to changing business environments.

  • Proactive attitude with a problemsolving approach.

Additional Information
