Our offer to you

  • We are offering an internship in Interactive Guidance for Navigated Spinal Surgery

  • You will have the opportunity to develop prototypes for our Surgical Navigation System and support our team with your proofofconcept application.

  • You will be an active member of our international and interdisciplinary research and development team.

  • You will implement your solution using C or Python and Matlab and evaluate it in an ecosystem consisting of stateoftheart navigation and imaging systems.

  • You will learn and apply the latest technologies in machine vision computer graphics humancomputer interaction and interactive systems.

  • You will conduct independent research in the surgery room environment to find out how innovative ideas can be applied in a valueadding way.

That makes you stand out

  • You are studying for a masters degree in computer science medical engineering mathematics physics or a comparable subject.

  • You have experience with test setups and objectoriented programming languages e.g. C/C) script languages e.g. Python Matlab or libraries (OpenCV Qt DCMTK).

  • You have a good grasp of mathematics.

  • You want to tackle challenging problems in medical engineering.

  • You are known among friends and fellow students for your initiative and flexibility.

  • You have a good command of English and ideally a good command of German.

  • You work independently are highly motivated and committed and are prepared to take on responsibility quickly.

Start Date: September or October 2025

Duration: 6 months

Location: Freiburg
