Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader of focal plane arrays and flightbased vision systems supporting a myriad of defense surveillance space and weather tracking applications. We have an immediate careergrowth opportunity for a Principal Specialist Requirements & Capabilities (R&C) to join our team in Goleta California. The Principal Specialist R&C serves a critical role in the RVS R&C organization. The Principal Specialist is the central hub inside RVS around which customer facing Business Development (BD) activity is supported coordinated tracked and reported. The Principal Specialist will be responsible for BD budget management data analysis market research supporting campaigns and proposals and facilitating customer engagements all in contribution of business growth.
The ideal candidate will have experience in business operations planning and scheduling data analysis utilizing backoffice tools to capture data and generate reports and ensuring customer followup activities occur on schedule. They must be outgoing high energy well organized detail oriented responsive responsible and able to multiplex multiple tasks simultaneously in a fastpaced environment. In this role knowledge of the aerospace industry business development processes and a desire to meet team goals will be critical for success.
What You Will Do
- Data analysis: Track key metrics New Business Investment (NBI) expenditures and analyze performance data to drive business improvement in support of the BD teams operating needs
- BD Database Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the BD data base ensuring data is accurate complete and current. Generate reports on a recurring and as needed basis to support the BD teams needs and business data calls.
- Market Research: Analyze industry trends and potential customer segments to identify new business opportunities and/or changes to current engagements and opportunities and to communicate those findings to the BD and leadership teams. Assess competitive landscape to identify competitive strengths weaknesses and threats and communicate those findings to the BD and leadership teams.
- Sales Collateral: Organize maintain and provide a tracking system of RVS sales collateral and customer briefings to ensure appropriate resources are available ondemand for the BD team in support of customer engagements.
- Proposals and White Papers: Support proposal development proposal production proposal meetings and reviews coordinate proposal production and ensure proposals comply with instructions in customer Requests for Proposal (RFP). Provide editorial support proofreading and input on proposal and white papers.
- Customer Engagement: Facilitate customer visits by providing logistics support to the BD leads. Provide booth support as requested at trade shows conferences etc. Execute initial lead followup and qualification following initial customer engagements and trade shows. Once a lead is qualified work to engage the appropriate BD lead.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and 5 years of professional business experience or an Advanced Degree and 3 years of experience
- 3 years experience with one or more of the follow disciplines: Business Development Sales Operations Business Operations and Management and/or Program Management
- Experience managing budgets driving performance schedules to achieve deadlines generating data reports and analyzing data and/or metrics to drive efficiencies and business improvement
- Experience with MS Office Suite including MS Excel PowerPoint and Project
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Experience working with CRM systems databases or similar in order to track and report Business Development activities.
- Technical acumen with the ability to learn and understand marketspecific jargon and how it relates to RVS capabilities. Experience in proofreading evaluating and/or editing proposals and white papers.

The salary range for this role is 90000 USD 182000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
