Job Title: Red Hat Linux Engineer 24x7 Onsite Support)
Location: Erskine

Clearance UK Sole national eligible for SC and DV
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Hat Linux Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing roundtheclock onsite support to ensure the stability security and performance of our Linuxbased systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to thrive in a fastpaced missioncritical environment. Applicants must be UK sole nationals due to the nature of the work and security requirements. Candidates must also demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor maintain and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform system installations configurations and upgrades adhering to best practices.
- Respond promptly to incidents resolving issues within defined SLAs.
- Implement and manage system security measures including patch management and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support infrastructure projects and deployments.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Document system configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in a rotating shift schedule of 2 days 2 nights followed by 4 days off to provide 24x7 support including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Linux Engineer with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Red Hat certifications (e.g. RHCSA RHCE) are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration networking and security.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash Python or Perl.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be a UK sole national.
- Must be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware KVM).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) and containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
- Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management.
