Job Description

Description:

Develops launches and oversees new production processes while continuously refining current ones to align with customer expectations and strategic business goals. Leads and coordinates the design and of projects for both new and existing products.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gain expertise in and provide support for all wire and cable equipment and related processes focusing on development and optimization.
  • Drive enhancements to existing machinery by improving efficiency reducing waste and minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Assist with the setup commissioning and integration of newly acquired equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to establish preventative maintenance strategies and promote performance gains.
  • Develop and standardize procedures for new equipment implementation.
  • Input and maintain product specs and quality standards within the ERP system.
  • Identify and resolve production issues involving:
    • Process inconsistencies (e.g. human error procedural shortcomings)
    • Raw material concerns (e.g. supplier quality issues contamination)
    • Equipment malfunctions (e.g. mechanical failures design inefficiencies)
  • Improve operational output by enhancing throughput reducing variability minimizing s and maximizing material usage.
  • Design and acquire required tools fixtures and specialized equipment.
  • Develop factory floor layouts and create technical drawings for equipment and tooling.
  • Offer support across departments occasionally contributing to maintenance production and engineering functions at other company sites.

Raw Material Management:

  • Define and implement inspection procedures for incoming materials.
  • Investigate and resolve issues stemming from raw material defects or variability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Approve and qualify new raw materials for use in production.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and update product quality standards and specifications.
  • Design and apply inspection and testing protocols.
  • Deliver operator training to uphold product and process quality standards.

Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing:

  • Track performance indicators for wire and cable production equipment and implement strategies for improvement.
  • May participate in compliance initiatives involving industry and regulatory standards such as UL ETL SAE ASME ASTM ANSI CSA NEMA NEC and ISO certifications (e.g. 9001:.
  • Contribute to regular production planning and review meetings to assess and refine manufacturing practices.
  • Use statistical tools to analyze and predict production cycle time improvements.

Customer and Project Interaction:

  • Serve as a technical contact between clients and internal engineering and validation teams.
  • Develop and oversee project timelines while maintaining communication with customers to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Define product use cases and required performance attributes.
  • Produce and present detailed technical documentation for both internal teams and external partners.
  • May require occasional travel both domestic and international.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements / Key Attributes:

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Industrial Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of handson experience in wire drawing extrusion (either chemical or plastics) and jacketing processes these are essential qualifications.
  • Strong grasp of electrical mechanical and chemical engineering concepts and applications.
  • Effective problemsolving abilities and sound judgment in decisionmaking.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Selfdriven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work well in a group setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management; PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and/or IATF 16949 is preferred.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and AutoCAD.

Ideal Candidate:

Wire drawing Extrusion (metals plastics or chemical extrusion) and jacketing process experience must be there. Wire & Cable experience is a MUST HAVE. Ideal is 7 years expereince but those with 35 will be looked at. Salary will be dependent on experience. Sponsorship is not available.
