Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up operates and tends to heat treat furnaces.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine macro hardness test verification as required.
  • Performs necessary testing and bake out cycles.
  • Performs capillary tests on brazed honeycomb hardware as required.
  • Performs brazability testing on new braze alloy lots.
  • Starts up operates and shuts down heat treat furnaces per documented work instructions.
  • Prepares load thermocouples as required.
  • Monitors furnace cycles to ensure proper operation.
  • Reviews furnace charts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Performs operations on open air aluminum furnace as assigned.
  • In coordination with Maintenance Department performs preventive maintenance on heat treat equipment (including but not limited to channel calibrations dew point tests and leak tests).
  • Proceeds under general supervision.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern heat treat operations.
  • Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
  • Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Meets attendance policy requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English and understand sketches routings product specifications safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.
