Job Description
General Information & Responsibilities
Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/parttime Instructors for the mathematics department for both developmental and transfer levels.
Actively recruiting for Fall 2025 semester.
Description of Duties
Faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons assignments or activities to enhance the students educational experience; evaluate students performance; maintain classroom records equipment and instructional materials.
Education & Experience
DEVELOPMENTAL MATHEMATICS M.A. or M.S. in Mathematics or Mathematics
Education (secondary level or higher) or a Masters in education degree which includes or has been supplemented with at least twelve hours of graduate level mathematics or statistics is required; has experience in working with students in developmental mathematics; is aware of the learning issues associated with special needs students. Completion of a teacher education program is preferred. Must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction
TransferLevel Mathematics
A masters degree in mathematics applied mathematics or statistics is requiredexcept as noted below. At least 18 graduate semester hours in pure mathematics applied mathematics and/or statistics are requiredexcept as noted below. A masters degree in mathematics is preferred. To teach Calculus I or any course with Calculus I or II as a prerequisite at least 18 graduate semester hours in pure mathematics is requiredincluding real analysis or equivalent. To teach statistics for general education math for general education or math for elementary education a masters degree in math education is acceptable. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level is preferred. Must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Less Than a Masters Degree $693.36 per equated hour
Masters Degree $808.92 per equated hour
Doctorate $866.70 per equated hour
