Position: Criminal Defence Duty Solicitor
Location: Derby
Salary:DOE
We are working with a reputable law firm in Derby that is looking for a dedicated Criminal Defence Duty Solicitor to join their growing team. If you are passionate about criminal defence work and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Handle a variety of criminal defence cases including Police Station and Magistrates Court representation.
- Out of Hours Rota: Participate in the outofhours rota for Police Station attendance.
- Business Development: Actively build and maintain local and regional networks to attract and secure new clients.
Ideal Candidate:
- Hold a current practising certificate (SRA or CILEX) with a strong client following.
- Ability to manage your own caseload and work autonomously.
- Strong advocacy skills and willingness to conduct your own advocacy.
- Proficient in business development and marketing with the ability to build a caseload.
- Excellent client care skills with a high level of technical competence.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and financial targets.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written and proficiency in IT (Word Excel Outlook).
- If not already Duty Qualified a willingness to become accredited.
