Tectonic is actively seeking an experienced fulltime Project Manager within the Western Region of New York State to provide construction management services on State University Construction Fund projects throughout the Syracuse Buffalo and/or Rochester NY areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Supervises coordinates and tracks all field site activities and provides technical advice on construction and design; executes corrective action using engineering design on projects to resolve issues;
- Responds to requests for information from contractors by interpreting plans and specifications by utilizing advanced knowledge of engineering and experience; documents contractor performance;
- Regularly reviews engineering design plans reviews and approves contract submittals and payment applications to contractors;
- Leads onsite engineers and inspectors to effectively observe work in progress in accordance with project requirements and to ensure that project records are properly maintained;
- Monitors the progress of the project in accordance with contract cost and schedule including project timelines and specifications and holds progress meetings as required;
- Ensures all project documentation is completed and submitted as required and completes necessary project closeout processes;
- Implements and follows Company and project safety protocol;
- All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years professional construction management experience;
- Ability to effectively communicate with project team;
- Excellent written verbal and analytical skills;
- Effective computer skills with the ability to effectively utilize project related software;
- A valid clean drivers license and personal vehicle to travel to job sites is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the essential functions of this position the employee is frequently required to assume a stationary position handle inspect and/or feel documents materials and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. The employee is also regularly required to move around on project sites and within buildings and other structures including ascending or descending the landscape or on a ladder and positioning themselves appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment frequently for prolonged periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. and sometimes lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. The employee is constantly working in outdoor weather conditions including exposure to extreme heat extreme cold and precipitation. The employee will also communicate with colleagues supervisors and clients utilizing Corporate and client email and telephone systems. The employee must also occasionally operate a computer as well as other related office machinery such as calculators printers and fax machines. This position also may require the regular operation of a motorvehicle which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
