About the role
Join us for an exciting and challenging role as Accountant/Senior Accountant Record to Report in our GBS in Warsaw you will work alongside valued and skilled colleagues in an environment where knowledge is exchanged and tasks are collaboratively assigned.
The VELUX Group is a global company with manufacturing and sales operations in more than 40 countries. We have been present in Poland for 35 years and are growing further within our GBS.
Your responsibilities
- Providing guidance and support regarding G/L balances balance sheet reconciliations preparing relevant journal entries accruals allocations and resolving issues
- Preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring all close activities are complete signed off and books are closed per established close calendar
- Full ownership of payroll activities (posting and reconciliation)
- Performing fixed assets and inventory management
- Calculating and declaring local taxes
- Preparing diverse financial reporting and analysis
- Providing support to financial statements preparation and assisting in audits
- Participating in the transition of new financial activities from local markets
- Searching for new solutions in complicated cases/supporting in delivering solutions in critical situations
- Participating in local and global projects implementation of process changesand system enhancements
- Coordination with various departments to ensure financial records are accurate and completed on time
- Providing support to business markets within the European operations (close collaboration with Finance Managers) of VELUX Group and outsourced operations in India (VOI) and acting as a bridge and counselor in more complex dilemmas to move things forward
Our requirements
- 13 years of relevant experience in RTR working within SSC/BPO
- Indepth knowledge of Record to Report process financial accounting and controlling
- Practical experience in implementing continuous improvements and obtained accounting qualifications are additional assets
- Fluent communication in English as a must German French or another European language is beneficial
- An ownership mentality: readiness to engage directly and drive the resolution of complex financial dilemmas
- Prior work experience with SAP is beneficial
- Proficiency in the use of Excel
- Experienced with training more junior team members sharing your knowledge with colleagues and acting as a role model
- Ready to engage with new ideas and adjust plans accordingly
- Clear communication skills and a constructive mindset towards tasks
