Alamon Inc. seeks a Utility Pole Inspector Trainee for its Utilitys East department. This position entails: Ensuring the safety reliability and functionality of wooden utility poles. This role involves learning and applying inspection procedures safety protocols and industry standards to assess the condition of utility poles and related equipment. This position requires working with Utility Pole Inspectors to develop all necessary skills and knowledge required for this role. The position will require extensive travel. Welcome to Alamon Job Description: - Undergo training to understand the basics of utility pole inspections utility pole components maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
- Learn and follow inspection procedures to evaluate the condition of utility poles including checking for structural integrity signs of deterioration pest infestation and damage caused by weather or external factors.
- Assist in identifying potential issues with utility poles and contribute to developing a maintenance plan.
- Complete inspection records and report and follow appropriate codes and regulations.
- Collect field data and perform daily and weekly reporting activities.
- Maintain and keep records up to date on all tools electronics vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere to company and governmental safety regulations.
- Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications: - Possess a current/valid drivers license and a clean driving record with no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
- Willing to travel locally statewide or regionally as required.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors in a physically demanding work environment and allweather conditions lifting or moving up to 40lbs. and hiking over various terrain.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle equipment and tools.
- Possess a professional attitude that will positively represent the Alamon organization to clients and the communities in which they work.
Work Environment: - This position will work outdoors yearround in all weather conditions and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot cold wet windy or icy conditions.
- Exposure to dust odors gases vapors wet or slick surfaces and loud noises is possible.
- Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
Physical Demands: - This is a physically arduous position that requires working outside in a variety of weather types and exposure to the elements.
- This position requires hiking and standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform physical labor including but not limited to digging hiking climbing working with shovels tamping bars etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
Travel Requirements: - This is a fulltime traveling position that requires extensive travel where you will be on the road for upwards of 5 weeks at a time if not longer.
- Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working for the company.
Education and Experience: - Highschool Diploma or GED Preferred
