Description

For over 10 years Preble Street has been a leader in the antitrafficking movement in Maine. Working with a network of partners to promote individual and systemic justice Preble Streets AntiTrafficking Services (ATS) provides survivorcentered services toward healing growth and selfsufficiency to people who have been trafficked and forced into commercial sex work domestic services agricultural work restaurant work or other labor.

Preble Street is seeking a fulltime Caseworker to work with the ATS team to provide intensive case management and targeted outreach activities children and youth victims of human trafficking. While facilitating access to other supportive services to ensure basic needs are met Caseworkers also provide crisis intervention and support; participate in program coverage; collaborate with youthserving community partners to provide a survivorcentered continuum of care; document and report services provided; and work collaboratively with the ATS team toward offering highquality services and meeting program objectives. These roles will also participate in milieu management and other program activities in the Preble Street Teen Center and various other community locations.

Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am 4:30pm with occasional evening and weekend hours as required. This role will work throughout York Cumberland Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties in Maine. This position could be based out of the Preble Street offices in Portland or Lewiston.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Caseworkers qualifications include a combination of education or study in social work or related field and relevant experience OR comparable combination of education and lived experience.

Also required are an understanding of and commitment to lowbarrier service provision Housing First principles harm reduction and empowerment approaches and issues related to human trafficking survivors and other experiences of trauma; understanding of systemic racism oppression social and economic justice; positive regard for individuals fleeing violence experiencing homelessness poverty engaging in commercial sex and other complex situations; effective crisis intervention skills; the ability to maintain professional boundaries; collaborative work style; computer skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. Bi/multilingual skills are a preferred qualification. Reliable transportation is required for this position.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The hourly rate of pay for this fulltime 40 hours/week) position is $22.45 per hour. Staff with bi/multilingual skills may qualify for an additional $1/hour differential.
