Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Environmental Engineer to join our Minneapolis Minnesota Remediation team. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting design and implementation services to our key clients.

This position is expected to begin in June 2025.

Responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Conducting environmental field work including collection of samples for soil groundwater sediment surface water & soil gas analysis data from remediation systems groundwater sampling & fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.
  • Producing accurate and complete documentation of field work tasks for sampling efforts system operation and site inspections in addition to processing and interpreting field data.
  • Supporting office tasks including data interpretation analysis report preparation with comparison of findings to relevant studies and local state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Traveling to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
  • Health and safety planning and hazard recognition.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental/Civil/Geological/Chemical Engineering.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices. 
  • As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Masters degree in environmental engineering or related field.
  • EngineerinTraining certification.
  • Knowledge of PFAS.
  • Knowledge of environmental sampling practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong quality and time management.
  • Selfstarter develops and delivers work under own initiative.
  • Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
  • Excellent attention to Health and Safety.


Additional Information :

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
  • Travel of 40 is required for this position.
