Job Description
Principal Job Objectives:
- Oversight of all daytoday security operations within the HSA to include the Gold Circuit Gold Room and Process Plant as directed by and on behalf of the Security Manager and HSA Superintendent
- To provide a physical security presence within the HSA and provide accurate and timely reporting
- To ensure that all relevant company Standard Operating Procedures are followed by the company personnel and contracted security service providers
- To provide quick and effective reaction to emergency situations and incidents
Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide effective oversight/over watch of contracted HSA security personne
- To be the physical security presence within the Gold Room for all Gold Room activities and operations
- To over watch all activity as required within the HSA Gold Circuit Gold Room and Process Plant as directed by the HSA Superintendent
- To be a trusted 24hour access key custodian for all security keys and related access on behalf of the Security manager to include unlocking and securing the Gold Room and any other restricted locations within the Process Plant in conjunction with the HSA Superintenden
- To provide oversight of all maintenance and contracted security personnel requiring access to the HSA
- To assist the Security manager and HSA Superintendent in executing comprehensive Security Response Plans Emergency Evacuation Plans and other policies and procedures
- To assist with the planning and of gold shipment security
- Conduct status checks of the Airlocks Gold Room doors and alarm system
- With the HSA Superintendent conduct physical inspections of security equipment and sensitive locations at regular intervals to include Gold Room preopening perimeter check and lockup building clearance and perimeter check equipment checks to include all security PPE and related HSA equipment
- With the HSA Superintendent conduct daily first and last light Process Plant perimeter sweeps and facilities checks (all locked and screened processes within the Process Plant)

- Maintain security awareness with reports alerts briefings and policy recommendations to the HSA Superintendent
- Ensure that all breaches of security are reported to the HSA Superintendent
- Any other duties as dictated by site security management
Profil
Knowledge / Skills & Skill
- The person should have a background in relevant Security positions
- Extractive industries experience beneficial in particularly the HSA/Gold Circuit
- The person must be a selfmotivator with good organisational skills
- Working knowledge and experience with physical Security techniques technologies systems and components including but not limited to access controls and CCTV systems
- Working knowledge of appropriate software programs that will facilitate the reporting and control aspects of the role (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Incident investigation experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Working knowledge of VPSHR and equality and diversity principles a benefit
- Enthusiasm for solving problems and implementing creative solutions by taking timely decisive action based on available information
- Must possess strong cultural sensitivity and be able to execute work successfully in a different culture
- Must be able to work unsupervised
Training/Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Military or police background with minimum 5 years
Experience required
- Minimum 5 years experience in security in the private sector
Language Requirement
- Ability to communicate well in English (written and verbal)
- French language skills beneficial
