Job Description

THE POSITION

Do you possess diligent organizational and leadership skills and enjoy complex financial and budgetary projects Luzerne County Mental Health and Development Services is excited to welcome an Accountant 2 to perform provider monitoring and various reconciliations in addition tooverseeing the programs single audit regulations and federal state and local regulations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accountant 2 you will apply prescribed professional accounting principles and techniques to the treatment of transactions and other accounting operations within withLuzerne County Mental Health and Development Services. This professional is designated as the programs Single Audit Coordinator and is responsible for the analyzation and development of responses to any exceptions identified in the independent audit of the counties MH/DS program related to individuals areas of responsibility. You will also perform review and analysis of all audit submissions including a reconciliation of audited expenditures to MH/DS payments. Within this role you will be responsible for budget oversight of the MH/DS program provider services contracts which includes maintaining a contract spreadsheet to track all amounts billed to the program by service providers.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Accountant I;or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
