Job Description

The DufferinPeel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest and most diverse school districts in Ontario with approximately 73000 students attending 151 schools 125 elementary and 26 secondary) located throughout Mississauga Brampton Caledon and Orangeville. AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC

FullTime Permanent

Position Summary

Underthe direction of the Supervisor Maintenance Services the AirConditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installationrepair operation and preventive maintenance of heating ventilating and airconditioning equipment and for all associated controls.

Qualifications EducationExperience and Knowledge

  • Valid Refrigeration Air Conditioning mechanics license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training or an equivalent Canadian interprovincial license.

  • Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate.

  • Valid G1 gas fitters license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development or an equivalent Canadian interprovincial license.

  • Valid full G Ontario drivers license.

  • Minimum grade 12 secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of five years experience in diagnostic evaluation maintenance installation set up and commissioning of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

  • Good working knowledge of the latest developments in air conditioning technology.

  • Good working knowledge of building service systems.

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical construction schematic and control drawings.

  • Good working knowledge of Direct Digital Control interface systems.

  • Good working knowledge of electrical control systems operating procedures relevant codes and safety practices.

  • Must be compliant with Board policies and procedures as well as Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English to effectively communicate within the team and other stakeholders.
