  • Providing high quality integrated legal services for Victorian women and nonbinary people who are victimsurvivors of family violence and disadvantaged or marginalised by structural and systemic barriers.
  • Building the capacity of professionals who work with women and nonbinary people to better understand the law and navigate the legal system safely.
  • Advancing gender equality by challenging unsafe and discriminatory policies and laws and informing and advocating for legal and policy initiatives that respect and promote the rights of women and nonbinary people.

About the Role

The Accountant will assist with the financial reporting requirements for the organisation including BAS preparation and other compliance lodgements. The accountant will ensure all financial statements are prepared accurately and in a timely manner in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure accurate collection and preparation of financial statements reconciliations and end of year audits.
  • Maintain records of our project accounts and individual funding streams.
  • Assist the team in investment strategy to maximise income and sustainability.
  • Assist and/or process fortnightly payroll.

About You

You are a detailoriented and reliable accountant who thrives on delivering accurate financial results. You enjoy solving problems analysing data and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. With your strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise you excel in managing competing deadlines without compromising quality.

Key to your success is your:

  • Experience in accounting related to government funding and undertaking acquittal processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting packages
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships within the team and wider organisation.
  • You will:
  • Hold an accounting qualification
  • Be proficient using Xero
  • Experience working in an accounting role for a NFP organisation will be highly regarded.
