Job Title:Lead Network Engineer
Status: U.S. citizen or Green Card Holder

The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for architecting standardizing documenting implementing and supporting the network infrastructure for critical reliability and maximum uptime. This role will serve as a LAN/WAN expert and will entail recommending and supporting the selection development deployment monitoring maintenance and enhancement of network technologies for both traditional network and Azure networking. The role will also be responsible for leading the network engineering group with direct reports. You will partner with Burwood team members and our premier healthcare client to deliver the following technical solutions.
Design implement and maintain (break/fix) all network platform technologies including Ciscobased LAN WAN Wireless VOIP and Security.
Establish and maintain the physical and logical architecture of all network components.
Perform switching/routing load balancing and firewall administration.
Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multivendor multisite infrastructure.
Ensure network failover capabilities between critical operational components and data centers.
Manage and provide technical guidance or training to midlevel and junior staff of the network group.
Handle escalations and resolve issues for midlevel and junior staff.
Define standards and best practices for network solutions and maintaining the network including creating and documenting processes/procedures related to network design monitoring security and disaster recovery.
Establish monitor evaluate and report key performance and key risk indicators (KPIs and KRIs) to provide leadership with visibility into the effectiveness of the Network Infrastructure.
Monitor network operations to identify performance and capacity issues.
Measure the volume and performance of network traffic.
Identify utilization and performance issues.
Develop plans and implement new technologies and services to satisfy capacity and performance requirements.
In addition you will join a Center of Excellence where youll interact with your peers across the country to help develop best practices and future solutions.
Qualifications :
WHO YOU ARE
As a highly skilled and certified network engineer you possess strong proficiency in configuring troubleshooting and optimizing Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols as well as security protocols. Your extensive knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols and certifications such as CCNP with additional expertise in ISO27001 and HITRUST make you an invaluable asset to any team.
Experience:
Bachelors degree in business information systems or related field.
10 years of experience in Network Design or Network Engineering.
Experience Cisco Firepower and Secure Firewall Management Center
7 or more years of experience administering complex network environments.
5 or more years of experience configuring Cisco IOS.
5 or more years of experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
2 or more years of experience with Azure Networking.
VMware Velo Cloud SDWAN experience a plus.
Megaport Cloud experience a plus.
Previous healthcare experience is a plus.
THE TECH STUFF
Strong proficiency with the configuration troubleshooting proper operation and best practices of Layer 2 protocols (i.e. Spanningtree 802.3ad Link Aggregation 802.1q Trunking LLDP/CDP etc. Layer 3 protocols (ARP VRRP/HSRP OSPF OSPFv3 BGPv4 Security protocols (IPsec and SSL with respect to VPN).
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols (e.g. SSH HTTP(S) SMTP etc. other than those above and their proper operation.
Ability to be oncall rotation for network support.
Knowledge of ISO27001 is a plus.
Knowledge of HITRUST is a plus
Certification:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required.
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is a plus.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus.

Compensation packages at Burwood Group are based on various factors unique to each candidate including work location skillset experience qualifications and other jobrelated reasons. The estimated annual compensation for this role when it converts to fulltime is 100k to $149k).
