JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the direct supervision of a group of 511yearold children in a summer day camp program. Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor supervises assigned camp participants and assists with the implementation leading and monitoring of Summer Camp activities to provide quality recreational camp experiences for the children.
Presummer training will take place between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. The position will start on June 12 2025. The Recreation Leader will be assigned a variable schedule that will typically require 46 hours per weekday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Schedules and hours will vary based on camp enrollment in 2025 and end on August 15 Camp staff must be available to start work on the first day of camp.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
The Recreation Leader is expected to work effectively under minimal supervision. Work within a framework of standard District policies and procedures.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Knowledge of recreational activities appropriate for schoolage children. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers children parents and volunteers. Leadership and organizational skills. Ability to use independent judgment and take appropriate action to ensure childrens and staffs safety. Ability to deal with emergencies and stressful situations.
1. Minimum Education required: This is an entrylevel position. A valid work permit may be required for applicants under the age of 18.
2. Minimum Experience required: Previous experience working with children (volunteer work babysitting playing sports coaching etc. is preferred but not required)
3. Other requirements: State law requires all selected applicants 18 and over must be fingerprinted and pass a preemployment background check. A TB test clearance is required for all selected applicants. Reliable transportation to and from work. First Aid/CPR/AED Training or willingness to complete/recertify (preferred)
