Job Description

Essential Duties and Requirements
The Receiver General Laborer is responsible for efficiently managing materials throughout the custom cabinetry production process. This includes receiving inspecting and organizing incoming materials as well as assembling kits with all necessary parts and components for specific projects. The role ensures that materials are handled stored and distributed effectively to support the shops production schedule.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Receiving:
- Inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Report damaged or missing items to the Purchasing Department.
- Accurately document all received materials in inventory systems (e.g. Smartsheet).
- Organize and store materials in designated areas to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Pull materials from inventory based on the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each project.
- Assemble and label kitted parts ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Deliver kitted materials to the appropriate workstations or staging areas.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory levels including periodic cycle counts.
- Maintain a clear and organized storage system for raw materials hardware and components.
- Work with Purchasing to identify low stock levels and reorder needs.
- Assist in tracking material usage to minimize waste and improve yield.
- Collaborate with CNC operators assembly teams and Project Managers to ensure materials are prepared and delivered on time.
- Notify relevant staff when parts hardware or special materials are unavailable or delayed.
General Shop Support:
- Assist with staging completed projects for delivery.
- Ensure work areas are clean organized and free of hazards.
- Operate forklifts or pallet jacks as needed to move materials safely.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Experience in material handling receiving or related roles in a manufacturing environment (custom cabinetry experience is a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs blueprints or production drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must follow all Safety Requirements.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs. and operate machinery (forklift certification preferred but not required).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- At all times employees are required to be fit for duty.
- Employees are required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Employees stand for long periods of time.
- Employees may work in loud work areas.
- Employee is expected to be able to problem solve make well thought out decisions be organized.
