TekCom Resources is looking for anUnderground Directional Drillerfor a fulltime dire hire role with a telecom construction firm working in and around the Kansas City MO area!
As an OSP Underground Directional Driller you will operate heavy equipment necessary for underground fiber installation i.e. plowing installing duct pulling fiber and burying MUST have directional drilling experience to be considered for this work is focused on mostly rural construction so your work will take you up to 12 hours outside of market but overnight travel is not a typical part of this role.
Your duties will include: Operate heavy equipment to plow place duct pull cable and direct bury mainline and drops Assist with location and verification of utilities prior to work Read utility locates coordinate potholing and ensure safety of existing facilities Help keep projects on schedule and ensure quality of underground installation work meets company standards Participate in the maintenance of an organized warehouse and yard Communicate with customers on potential issues and pass that feedback along to Construction and Project Managers as needed Participating in the training of incoming team members under your supervision. Read prints and have knowledge of underground construction process Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment tools and supplies
Our client would like to see this experience in your background: At least 12 years of underground directional drilling experience for OSP/fiber projects Ability to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to a directional drill trencher backhoe excavator etc. Ability to work in various weather conditions Be able to identify and troubleshoot problems Positive attitude hard work ethic and priority for safety Must have CDL
