Position Summary
Thales requires a Technical Writer to support the ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) team. As a Technical Writer you will conduct coordinate and assist in the preparation revision and support of all products in the AOPS and JSS Technical Data Packages to ensure that the data is accurate complete and consistent across the support solution.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Prepare author and/or revise technical documents (CFTO/LSAR/EFT/Misc. Reports) as necessary to support improvements to the technical data package and support solution.
- Review products of the technical data package in collaboration with engineers to ensure that the technical data reflects the latest system/equipment configuration of the ships is complete accurate and consistent across the support solution.
- Coordinate the activities related to the verification of the final technical data package track progress and report status. Analyze Document Change Requests and liaise with technical contributors as appropriate to address the request and prepare or coordinate the development of the Change Package to identify the technical data package changes and revisions.
- Implement the technical data package changes and revisions or collaborate with procurement personnel to contract out the implementation of the changes and revisions. Review and provide concurrence to changes and revisions of the technical data package ensuring the products are technically accurate logically presented consistent with the appropriate national defense specifications formats and customer requirements.
- Coordinate the development of new technical data in support of engineering changes technical bulletins logistics support analysis or problem reports. Coordinate the translation of the technical data and the acquisition of associated Translation Accuracy Checks for all translated material or of translation waivers if applicable.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of a 2year technical program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or eligibility for registration as a technician by a recognized provincial state or federal (national) licensing body in a technical field related to any naval discipline including mechanical electrical electronic (including software) naval architecture or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of demonstratedexperience with the production revision publishing and/or coordination of technical data package products including technical publications systems and equipment manuals technical drawings and associated lists.

Special Position Requirements
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Physical Environment: Hybrid position which a mix of working from home and onsite (in office at customer site or on board ships alongside in harbour).
Travel: Occasional domestic travel maybe required in support of the ships.
The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC) inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility for this role is 58296..96 CAD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicants status protected by local provincial and federal laws.
