Job Description

Job Title: Advancement Office Intern
Department: Advancement Development and Marketing
Reports To: Director Corporate and Foundation Relations

Job Type: Paid Internship


Position Overview:
The Advancement Office Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the organizations development efforts. This position focuses on cleaning and managing the donor database conducting research and prospecting potential donors and assisting with grant writing. Additional opportunities are available based on the interns interests.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Management:
Clean and update the donor database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Organize donor records update contact information and remove duplicate entries.
Assist in the implementation of database enhancements and improvements.
2. Research and Prospecting:
Conduct research on potential individual corporate and foundation donors.
Identify and qualify new prospects through various research methods and tools.
Maintain detailed records of prospect research and interactions.
3. Grant Writing Assistance:
Learn the fundamentals of grant writing and the grant application process.
Assist in drafting reviewing and editing grant proposals.
Compile and organize supporting documentation for grant submissions.
Gain experience working with an AI submission tool
4. General Support:
Assist with special events fundraising campaigns and other development activities as needed.
Collaborate with the Advancement team on various projects and initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the organizations goals.


Qualifications:
Interest in nonprofit development and fundraising.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program preferably in a related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Experience with database management (e.g. Bloomerang) is a plus. Ability to conduct thorough and accurate research.
