SUMMARY
As a member of the Advanced Technology group the Mission Design Analyst is responsible for performing orbital analyses for transfer to lunar orbit and lunar landing prior to mission. This position is located in Cape Canaveral Florida and reports into the Vice President Advanced Technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and optimize lunar mission trajectories from transfer orbit insertion to landing
- Perform launch window analyses and define mission sequence of events
- Perform propellant budget analyses and estimate fuel requirements
- Support mission simulations by performing orbital analyses expected during flight
- Perform mission maneuver planning and optimization during flight
- Perform orbit determination to specify tracking system parameters define the orbital state and predict orbital events
- Plan and provide operational support for orbit transfer and landing maneuvers
- Duties also include supporting trade studies developing requirements and design documentation reviewing and evaluating analyses performed by subcontractors or partners and supporting new business development activities
REQUIREMENTS
- 510 years of experience in orbital analysis mission planning and design
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Physics or related STEM field
- Masters degree in applicable engineering discipline is a plus
- Experience with spacecraft mission and orbital analyses (orbit determination ephemeris generation perturbation analysis maneuver planning and error analysis)
- Experience with spacecraft mission operations
- Experience developing endtoend spacecraft mission simulations
- Proficient in computational analysis software (e.g. Matlab Simulink etc.
- Experience with spacecraft orbital and mission analysis software (e.g. STK etc.
- Experience with software development using C/C or related language
- Selfstarter who works with a sense of urgency and is able to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to change in an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Toconform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations under ITAR and EAR applicant must be a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S. or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (Green Card holder)
- Final candidate must pass a background investigation that may include employment verification criminal check education check drug screening credit check and/or driving record check depending on the position
