Are you a motivated person looking for a dynamic role supporting special events for a leading charity

We are excited to be recruiting for a new Special Events Assistant to join the Special Events and Celebrity Engagement team who sit within the St Mungos Philanthropy Team. We organise events and manage celebrity relationships with the aim of spreading awareness and supporting our mission to rebuild lives and end rough sleeping.

The new role of Special Events Assistant will give you the opportunity to support the team in planning and delivering engaging events that highlight our clients stories and the impact of our work inspiring audiences to start or continue their support. Your role will include assisting with the planning and delivery of events maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders managing event communications and collateral processing data accurately and securely. This role offers a chance to learn grow and make a meaningful impact. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of special events working closely with the Special Events and Celebrity Engagement Manager.
  • Work with teams across St Mungos including our Philanthropy and Partnerships teams to help create and deliver engaging events for donors and partners that contribute to achieving wider team objectives.
  • Provide excellent supporter care and customer service responding to event enquiries and coordinating event communications.
  • Provide admin support to the Special Events function ensuring the database (Raisers Edge NXT) is accurately maintained and up to date for events and youll assist with reporting and gathering insights postevent.
  • Follow fundraising best practices adhere to St Mungos policies and contribute to a supportive team culture.

About you

We are looking for someone with a proactive approach to learning and a passion for making a difference. You might already be in a similar role have some previous experience in organising events or may be looking to bring transferable skills and a willingness to learn to the role. Either way if you want to get stuck into a new challenge we encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate the following:

  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage your own timein a busy team environment.
  • The ability to provide excellent customer service and build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Some previous experience assisting with the planning organising and delivery of inperson and virtual events.
  • Good admin skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office IT software and database systems.
  • Experience in using CRM databases (e.g. Raisers Edge) digital communication and collaboration tools is beneficial for this role.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill London. This allows for training in person collaboration team building line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home or other St Mungos London or regional locations.
