Join the Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) as an Adult Mental Health Therapist in Santa Barbara working with individuals in our Adult Residential Treatment Program (ARTS) and outpatient program Project Recovery.
This role allows you to make a significant impact on the mental health and recovery of individuals seeking support for substance use disorders (SUD) with a focus on therapy and case management in a communityoriented setting.
As part of a multidisciplinary team you will assist individuals who are selfreferred referred from outside sources or courtmandated in their recovery journey. You will be an integral part of helping them build their mental health and substance use recovery plan while gaining valuable experience in diagnosis therapy and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in helping profession (Psychology Social Work etc.. Must be an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate Social Worker Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
- Specific knowledge of individual counseling principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of local resources for treatment recovery and rehabilitation.
- Ability to write appropriate professional letters and reports to communicate verbally with professionals and with clients from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to recognize own professional limitations so that appropriate referrals can be made.
- High standard of professional ethics.
- Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide LPHA diagnostic services review ASAM assessments consult with clinicians and determine appropriate SUD diagnosis and care.
- Document and add SUD diagnoses to client problem lists in EHR systems (SmartCare and Credible) ensuring supporting information is included.
- Conduct weekly individual therapy sessions for residents at CADAs Adult Residential Treatment Program.
- Maintain accurate and timely client documentation including case notes and service records following DMC ODS Title 22 guidelines.
- Attend staff meetings participate in note reviews and complete required training and consultations with BWell.
- Collaborate with the Director of Adult Treatment Services and provide phone consultations with counselors/therapists as needed.
The position is parttime 25 hours per week with an expected schedule of MF 10:00am3:30pm.
The salary for this position is based on a variety of criteria including experience qualifications and skills. The hourly rate ranges from $26.50 to $32.50 with the potential for increases for bilingual candidates (Spanish/English).
