This position is well suited to someone who is a Registered Midwife and/or Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA) With a minimum of three years experience in midwifery and maternal health and who has an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values and commitment to the advancement and selfdetermination of Aboriginal communities.
Established in 1998Katherine West Health Boardis an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania 162000km) helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.
About the Opportunity
The Senior Maternal and Womens Health Advisor will oversee the Maternal and Womens Health program at KWHB ensuring the delivery of highquality evidencebased antenatal postnatal and womens health services. This position provides clinical leadership strategic direction and program coordination for the maternal and womens health team while working closely with KWHB clinics external specialists and partner organisations to enhance service delivery.
The role is based in Darwin or Katherine 0.6 FTE) with regular travel to KWHB communities to support program implementation staff training and quality improvement activities.
